Active
     Active members must be licensed doctors of medicine and/or osteopathy practicing nuerological surgery in the State of Texas.  Must be certified by the ABNS, the ABONS or the equivalent OR have completed residency training program approved by the aforementioned.
Senior
     An Active TANS member, 65 years or older OR under 65 & retired from active practice for one-year (this must be requested in writing and approved by the board)
Associate
     Licensed doctors of medicine or osteopathy practing in TX, certified by their closely realted neuroscience specialty board who are in the close liasion and cooperation with an active member in his neurosurgical work.
Candidate (Resident/Fellow)
    

Doctors of medicine or osteopathy currently in a Certified neurosurgical training program.
Allied Health Professional
    

Allied Health professionals (non-physicians) working in a neurosurgery practice.
